Stamp Out Hunger

Thank you to volunteers young and old who braved the rain to help sort food collected by the National Association of Letter Carriers for Stamp Out Hunger, the largest one-day food drive in the country. Over 6417 pounds of food now fill the shelves at the Denton Community Food Center to help serve the 21% of Northern Denton County residents who are hunger insecure and don’t know where to get their next meal. The crisis for many families peaks in summer when students will not receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Families in crisis can find a list of healthy meals for their children through the Summer Food Service Program from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
