BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
We collaborate with a network of nonprofits, school districts, area businesses and civic groups to ensure every student is equipped to start the year ready to learn.
BOARD LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
We teach local volunteers the skills needed to shape and govern a successful nonprofit board.
COMMUNITY GRANTS
We amplify the efforts of highly efficient and effective nonprofits by investing resources to address the most critical needs of Denton County.
COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT
We research, collate, and publish full reports every five years to determine Denton County’s highest-priority needs. Annual reassessments update the data to ensure accuracy.

This Team advocates and facilitates a collaborative person-centered behavioral health system to repair and restore lives.

We provide the tools needed for individuals to start in-home child care centers to help meet the growing need for flexible, affordable child care.
DENTON COUNTY HOMELESSNESS LEADERSHIP TEAM
This Team fosters an effective and coordinated system of homelessness prevention and intervention.
DENTON COUNTY VETERAN STABILITY PROGRAM
We help eligible Veterans, their surviving spouses, and dependents facing financial hardships with temporary assistance for housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, and more.
DENTON COUNTY WORKFORCE SUCCESS LEADERSHIP TEAM
This Team works to increase financial capabilities and earning potential for working families in Denton County to move them from survival to stability.

We collate resources to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers with local job listings, useful interview tips, and workforce guidance.
END VETERAN HOMELESSNESS
The Denton County Homelessness Leadership Team, a Collective Impact initiative managed by United Way of Denton County, has adopted the goal to end Veteran Homelessness into its strategic plan, and City of Denton then-Mayor Chris Watts signed on to the national mayor's challenge in fall of 2018. Trained volunteers work with individuals and families to reach personalized goals to improve financial stability.

HOMELESSNESS BARRIERS FUND
This fund reduces barriers to housing by increasing resources of nonprofits working with Denton County families to promote housing stability and self-sufficiency.
HOMELESSNESS DATA
We collate and analyze Coordinated Entry data from a county-wide network of shelters and service providers, as well as the annual one-day homeless population census, to better understand the nature of homelessness.
HOUSING NAVIGATOR
We centralize communication between landlords and housing service agencies to increase access to safe and affordable housing for Denton County households in crisis.
HOUSING STABILITY
This program offers rent and utility assistance to individuals and families who suffered financial loss due to the pandemic.
INFORMATION & REFERRAL
We help people in crisis through a local helpline, online database, and local resource directories to connect those in need with service providers in Denton County.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
We advocate for overall mental health by creating conversations to reduce mental health stigma with Mental Health Matters panels, Wellness Wednesday videos, and Okay to Say.
NETWORK OF NONPROFITS & PARTNER AGENCIES
We holistically support a network of Denton County’s finest nonprofits to increase efficiencies and eliminate redundancies to better meet people’s needs.
PARENT CAFES
We provide parents with a safe place to learn, collaborate, and seek support from one another to help build parent engagement.
POINT-IN-TIME COUNT
This annual survey to count Denton County’s unsheltered and sheltered homeless on one night to better understand the nature of homelessness.
VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA)
We provide free tax preparation to low and moderately-low income families.
