1. Over $1M Invested in Denton County Nonprofits

With your help, we donated $1,074,459 to our Denton County network of nonprofits to fund organizations and programs that address needs identified by our Community Needs Assessment. Ultimately, we empower you, our donor, to invest in neighbors for a better Denton County community.

2. Another Record Year for VITA!

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, a record number of tax return dollars came back to Denton County in 2018. We returned 1,561 tax refunds for low to moderate income taxpayers totaling a record-breaking $2.1 million

3. Hundreds trained to administer Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid trained 215 individuals with a five-step action plan to help others experiencing a mental health crisis.

 4. Phases I & II of Improving Lives Capital Campaign Complete!

Thanks to generous support from Improving Lives Capital Campaign donors, we purchased, partially renovated, and developed future plans for the United Way Community Complex to accommodate the growing needs of Denton County today and into the future.

5. Pilot Program Guiding & Serving Vets Finds Permanent Home

The Veteran Community Navigator (VCN) program was piloted in 2016 and funded with a state grant to provide a more holistic approach to supporting Veterans and their families. The VCN proved successful referring over 700 clients from inception to October 2018, when it officially began operation as part of the Denton County Veteran Service Office.

6. Organizations Unite to Help 3,176 Denton Students Succeed

When a community comes together, amazing things happen! Three back-to-school events consolidated into the Denton Back-to-School Fair where 3,176 students received backpacks, 505 received vision screenings, and 78 received glasses on site.

7. #United4HomelessVeterans

Led by the Denton County Homelessness Leadership Team and the City of Denton, the commitment to end Veteran homelessness is a call to action for the entire community, requiring a coordinated effort across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

8. Tackling Hunger in Denton County

The community responded to the call to help Denton County's food insecure with donations of food and funds to fill depleted selves at local food pantries during spring food drives.
