2022 Humanitarian Award Recognizes Terry & Bob Widmer
Contributions to advancing mental health and Veterans services earn Terry & Bob Widmer recognition as Dr. Bettye Myers Humanitarian Award at this year’s UNITED Tribute.

United Way of Denton County has announced the 2021 Dr. Bettye Myers Humanitarian Award will recognize the county-wide impact of Highland Village power couple Michelle and Brian Cree. The prestigious award will be presented at the organization’s tenth annual UNITED Tribute gala celebration on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
A steady stream of cars, vans, and trucks passed by the docks of Denton County Emergency Services as Denton County nonprofits picked up cases of 8 oz. bottles of hand sanitizer donated by BPS Technology and Shotwell Hydrogenics to United Way of Denton County.
We hosted a nonprofit convening with 16 organizations from across Denton County to review the “Built for Texas” report from United Ways of Texas and Onestar Foundation and discuss how the nonprofit sector can advocate for legislative infrastructure support as they look to 2021.
United Way of Denton County announced the disbursement of $118,425 from its COVID-19 Relief Fund to support neighbors in Denton County struggling financially in the wake of the local COVID-19 pandemic response.
The Denton County Commissioners Court allocated $60,000 to the COVID-19 Relief Fund (CRF), established and administered by United Way of Denton County to provide financial assistance to support individuals and families in Denton County impacted in the wake of the local COVID-19 pandemic response.
