#DenCoCounts

Divided into groups of two or four, 76 volunteers contributed countless hours to make people experiencing homelessness in our community count. The teams blanketed Denton County on Thursday, January 24th for the annual Point-In-Time census to collect information which helps our community identify and understand the extent and nature of homelessness. Results from the count will be released in spring.

Thank you LJ Artisan Designs!

LJ Artisan Designs and owner Leah Johnson proved she is as generous as she is talented by donating 10% of sales from November to United Way. In addition to online purchases, a trunk show open house held at our new offices afforded supporters some hands-on holiday shopping. Thank you LJ Artisan Designs!!

Community Investment Volunteers Visit Nonprofit Partners

The Community Investment Committee, a team of volunteers from civic, government, and business segments, visited each of our Partner Agencies recently as part of the annual in-depth review preceding the allocation of grants. These trained volunteers devoted substantial time to assess each application and financials, attend agency presentations, and participate in the final evaluation.  The Community Investment Committee ensures our donors’ investments continue to fund organizations and programs that align with our strategic focus areas identified by key findings in our Community Needs Assessment.
