The mission of Women UNITED is simple yet bold: to inspire, educate, and motivate women to become positive change-agents within the Denton County community as we work collaboratively to mobilize resources through philanthropy, leadership, and volunteerism that enable everyone to thrive.
 

The needs in Denton County are increasing, we need your help to improve and transform lives for the most vulnerable in our community. By joining Women UNITED, you become part of a caring group, committed to giving their time, talents, and treasure to United Way of Denton County.

Women community leaders LIVE UNITED for basic necessities in the community

Women UNITED addresses essential needs by volunteering, advocating, and providing goods to organizations in Denton County that assist the greatest needs. As our community continues to grow, needs such as housing and food insecurity grow with it. Women UNITED members are able to learn about these needs while providing services to help those in our community.

Women UNITED members help Back to School efforts

Women throughout the community assist local Independent School Districts and organizations by preparing economically disadvantaged students prepare for each upcoming school year. Whether it is collecting items, stuffing backpacks, or distributing supplies at local Back-to-School Fairs, Women UNITED helps expand education for Denton County students.

Women UNITED Members assembling backpacks for LISD

Women UNITED Members Collect Items & Volunteer for local Independent School Districts and their Back-to-School efforts

Members of Women UNITED gathered over 180 backpacks, 80 tissue boxes, and 100 headphones for Denton and Lewisville Independent School Districts to get economically disadvantaged students back-to-school ready. Members then helped assemble backpacks with school supplies for LISD students, and volunteered at DISD Back-to-School events.

Women Community Leaders Come Together for 2023 Homelessness Data Dashboard Findings

Women UNITED Members were able to listen to UWDC's Homelessness Data Management Specialist, Leia Atkinson, as she discussed the collaborative work in Denton County to address homelessness and the data found in 2023's PIT (Person in Time) Count, where a census of the unhoused population is taken every year. This was a great lunch for members to hear the needs of the community and what the non-profit sector in our community is doing to address these needs.
