Carren joined the United Way of Denton County team in June 2017. Carren obtained her Master of Social Work, with a Certificate in Child Welfare, from The University of Pittsburgh in 2007. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Carren is an Army Veteran and her husband retired from the Army in 2015. She has over 20 years’ experience working and volunteering in military communities across the United States. As the Veteran Education Facilitator for Project Camo, Carren will provide Mental Health First Aid training for Veterans, their family members, and community providers.
