Retirement Readiness Program for Lewisville Residents Launched

Partnership with City of Lewisville Launches a Retirement Readiness Initiative for Lewisville Residents

New program strengthens financial security and economic mobility for Lewisville residents

United Way of Denton County (UWDC) and the City of Lewisville have launched Bridge to Retirement Readiness, a free initiative funded by the City of Lewisville and operated by UWDC. Designed exclusively for Lewisville residents aged 55 to 65, this collaborative program aims to help residents and soon-to-be retirees protect and strengthen their financial security and economic mobility.

The Bridge to Retirement Readiness program pairs participants with a trained coach to build individualized action plans based on their needs. Through the one-on-one coaching model, residents will receive a comprehensive economic mobility assessment to gain a clear picture of their current standing and help them decide the next steps to take. The program will also provide tailored workforce resources to help navigate career transitions, paired with public benefits navigation to help residents understand what they qualify for and how to access it. Additionally, participants will receive local resource referrals and goal planning to establish a strategy for their financial future. To participate, interested Lewisville residents must submit an application, and because spots are limited, all coaching sessions are held by appointment only.

Interested residents begin by completing a short intake form to help confirm their eligibility and outline their unique situations. Once reviewed, program staff will reach out to match the resident with a trained coach and schedule their first meeting at the Lewisville Public Library. Over the course of 12 months, participants will meet with their coach three to four times, working entirely at their own pace to track progress, adjust their customized action plans, and directly connect with local resources.

"We want Lewisville residents to know they don't have to navigate big life changes or complicated financial decisions by themselves," said Shelby Redondo-Macon, Programs Director at United Way of Denton County. "This program is all about giving them personalized, one-on-one support they need to feel confident about their future. By matching residents with a trained coach, we are helping them protect their hard-earned money, find programs they qualify for, and stay secure and independent right here in our community."

"Providing resources that enhance the quality of life for our residents at every stage of life is a top priority for the City of Lewisville," said Ashleigh Feryan, Assistant Director of Neighborhood and Inspection Services Department for the City of Lewisville. "Partnering with United Way of Denton County allows us to bring crucial, personalized economic mobility support directly to our residents right where they live. By funding this initiative, we are investing in a stronger, more resilient community where our residents can confidently plan their future with dignity and peace of mind."
