Self-paced online training provided in partnership with BoardBuild to strengthen Denton County involvement in building a stronger nonprofit community.
We are excited to announce a partnership with online platform BoardBuild to train community volunteers to be effective board members and help connect them with nonprofits who need them.
Interested community-minded volunteers can learn the essentials of nonprofit board governance with challenging self-paced, online training that includes:
- Board Member Basics
- Essential Guiding Documents
- Nonprofit Financial Essentials
- Evaluating Agency Programs and the CEO
- Board Meetings and Committees
“We are dedicated to strengthening our local nonprofit community in any way we can and know that strong nonprofits begin with strong boards,” explained Gary Henderson, United Way of Denton County President & CEO. “Our partnership with BoardBuild helps us train and connect emerging and established leaders in Denton County with nonprofit boards who need their expertise.”
Volunteers who enroll through United Way of Denton County will receive a 10% discount and 20% of the registration supports United Way’s work to impact lives in Denton County. In addition, Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are available from the University of Texas at Arlington.
