United Way of Denton County Internship Opportunities

United Way of Denton County is now accepting applications for Summer / Fall internships!

Resource Development Internships
The Resource Development Internship is a comprehensive internship experience that provides the intern grant research and development, fundraising, event planning, and donor relationship development experiences.  Resource Development interns will participate in partnership development activities that achieve strategic resource development goals for United Way of Denton County.  Under the direction of the Resource Development Director and with support from the CEO, the Resource Development Internship enables the candidate to participate with board, staff and volunteers in the critical work of securing resources that enable United Way of Denton County to change lives.

Public Relations, Marketing and Communications Internships
Public Relations, Marketing and Communications Interns are an integral part of the United Way of Denton County team.  They will participate in day to day activities that enable implementation of United Way of Denton County strategic goals, support community investment activities, and support resource development efforts.  Under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Director, and alongside the United Way of Denton County staff, they will lead projects, develop creative and effective collateral, participate in social media efforts and leverage technology solutions that maximize the effectiveness of United Way of Denton County.

Community Impact Internships
Community Impact Internships, including Social Work practicum field placements, meet a critical need for United Way of Denton County and provides hands on experience to individuals interested in entering the non-profit or social service profession.  While serving as a Community Impact Intern, the individual will participate in planning and conducting community impact activities that achieve strategic goals, meet critical community needs and improve lives in Denton County.  Under the direction of the Community Impact Director, the Community Impact Intern will be engaged in direct program activities that build healthy communities, create financial stability, promote education and respond to emergency needs for people of all ages throughout Denton County.

Non-Profit Management Internships
Our Non-Profit Management Internship provides a fast-paced, challenging, broad-based exposure to every aspect of a complex 501(c) non-profit organization.  The Non-Profit Management Intern will participate in strategy and activities in the areas of resource development, program development and organizational development.  Non-Profit Management Interns will participate in United Way of Denton County staff meetings and lead efforts in the areas of: finance and accounting, non-profit policies and procedures, community impact, marketing and communications, grant research and development, balanced business scorecard reporting and board relations.  Students from any discipline are encouraged to participate, but due to the complex nature of this internship, preference is given to candidates in the last year of their degree program.
