Veterans Case Manager

Reports to Community Impact Director - Health & Mental Health Initiatives
Undergraduate degree with major course work in a human services field plus 1-3 years case management experience, preferably with Veterans

Responsible for routine case management work for Veterans and their families as directed by The Texas Veterans and Family Alliance Pilot Program Grant. Work involves developing and maintaining contact with Veterans, their family members, and service providers for medical, social, educational, and related service needs. Case Management is provided in a team-based environment with collaborative partners. Caseload size will vary. Two (2) positions available. Positions contingent on grant funding.

Reports to Community Impact Coordinator - Homelessness Initiatives

Responsible for implementing projects focused on four distinct categories: Promoting permanent housing focused solutions to ending homelessness, improving data quality and use in decision-making, building strategic partnerships that advance efforts to end homelessness, and engaging in special initiatives to end veteran and chronic homelessness.

Community Impact Internship

Deliver direct service results by developing and improving collective impact initiatives in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Data gathering and analysis
  • Volunteer management
  • Program planning and development
  • Program administration, evaluation and iteration
  • Social service delivery

Marketing & Outreach Internship

Communicate with stakeholders to promote giving and volunteerism, raise awareness of collective impact initiatives, and improve the public image of United Way of Denton County.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Copywriting and editing
  • Graphic and multimedia design
  • Social media and website development
  • Public relations and awareness
  • Corporate branding and communications

Non-Profit Management Internship

Coordinate strategic activities to provide long-term improvement in all aspects of United Way of Denton County.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Non-profit governance and accountability
  • Financial and accounting procedures
  • Strategic planning and management
  • Policies and procedures improvement
  • Business management practices

Resource Development Internship

Develop and improve strong community relationships to generate diverse and robust sources of donations and volunteerism in support of our mission to improve lives in Denton County.

  • Public speaking
  • Grant writing

Volunteer Management Internship

Supports volunteerism recruitment, training and retention for collective impact programs, resource development activities and special events.
