Open Position: Community Impact Director – Health & Mental Health Initiatives

Reports to President & CEO
Undergraduate degree plus at least five years relevant experience OR graduate degree with relevant experience in community development, public administration, or macro-level social work

Responsible for overall development and administration of United Way of Denton County (UWDC) Community Impact Health and Mental Health collective impact initiatives, with primary responsibility of leading the efforts of the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership (DCBHLT) to improve the planning, coordination, oversight, and implementation required to create systems change for behavioral health services in Denton County.

Community Impact Internship

Deliver direct service results by developing and improving collective impact initiatives in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Data gathering and analysis
  • Volunteer management
  • Program planning and development
  • Program administration, evaluation and iteration
  • Social service delivery

Marketing & Outreach Internship

Communicate with stakeholders to promote giving and volunteerism, raise awareness of collective impact initiatives, and improve the public image of United Way of Denton County.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Copywriting and editing
  • Graphic and multimedia design
  • Social media and website development
  • Public relations and awareness
  • Corporate branding and communications

Non-Profit Management Internship

Coordinate strategic activities to provide long-term improvement in all aspects of United Way of Denton County.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Non-profit governance and accountability
  • Financial and accounting procedures
  • Strategic planning and management
  • Policies and procedures improvement
  • Business management practices

Resource Development Internship

Develop and improve strong community relationships to generate diverse and robust sources of donations and volunteerism in support of our mission to improve lives in Denton County.

Examples of Developed Skills:

  • Relationship management
  • Event planning
  • Fundraising
  • Public speaking
  • Grant writing

Volunteer Management Internship

Supports volunteerism recruitment, training and retention for collective impact programs, resource development activities and special events.

Special Internships
