UWDC PROMOTES LEAH JORDAN TO SR. DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY IMPACT

16-year United Way of Denton County veteran to head program initiatives team.

United Way of Denton County (UWDC) announced today the promotion of long-time staffer Leah Jordan to the position of Senior Director of Community Impact.

As Senior Director of Community Impact, Jordan will lead UWDC’s team of initiative and program directors who develop collaborative projects across UWDC’s strategic focus areas defined by key findings in the most recent Community Needs Assessment: to help Children & Families succeed, to guide and serve Veterans and their families, to advocate for overall Mental Health, and to make Homelessness rare, brief & nonrecurring.

Jordan will continue to oversee UWDC’s network of nonprofit partners, lead the community needs assessment studies, and guide the Project Blueprint board training.

“I am excited to place our community impact team under Leah’s direction,” announced Gary Henderson, UWDC President & CEO. “In her 16 years with United Way of Denton County, she has witnessed tremendous changes in Denton County – both in the complexity of community needs, as well as the growing number of people in crisis.  Her experience and passion for improving lives will positively impact Denton County for years to come.”

Jordan joined United Way of Denton County in 2002 as Marketing and Campaign Associate after managing an insurance agency for five years. Her 16-year resume at UWDC speaks to Jordan’s dedication, serving in various capacities including Directors of Marketing & Communications, Resource Development, and Community Impact.

Jordan is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a degree in Mass Communications with a focus in Public Relations. She lives in Denton with her husband and three sons.
