Patricia joined United Way of Denton County in November 2019 as the Coordinated Entry Intake Specialist. She is part of the Street Outreach team and collaborates throughout Denton County with partner agencies, law enforcement, and first responders to reach people experiencing homelessness to connect them to resources and appropriate housing through a county-wide Coordinated Entry process.  Patricia graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and has applied her knowledge and passion to human and social services at nonprofits within North Texas. Her professional background includes: direct supportive services to abused and neglected children in the child welfare system; bilingual victim services, case management, legal advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at a partner agency, and facilitation of educational intervention groups in a Denton County school district. Patricia is trauma-informed, culturally-aware, and person-centered. She understands the complex impacts of social, economic, and systemic barriers and is dedicated to helping people, families, and those experiencing homelessness find positive solutions. She believes all people deserve an opportunity, dignity, and compassion. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with family and friends, music, travel, and the arts.
