As Denton County Grows, United Way of Denton County Adds New Faces

Janel Eichhorn and Marci Pritts join staff as Directors of Marketing and Communications, respectively.
 
DENTON, TX (Jan 8, 2018) – United Way of Denton County announced today the addition of two new faces to increase capacity in Marketing, Communications and Outreach. Janel Eichhorn and Marci Pritts are the newest members of the team at the United Way of Denton County and will serve as Director of Marketing, and Director of Communications & Outreach, respectively. Teddy Yan, former Director of Marketing & Outreach, shifts focus to lead programming as Director of Financial Initiatives serving low-to-moderate income persons in Denton County.  
 
“As the Denton metroplex continues to grow, the needs of the community increase as well,” said Gary Henderson, President & CEO of United Way of Denton County. “The addition of Janel and Marci to our team immediately boosts our effectiveness to tell the United Way of Denton County story and position us as we prepare for this growth.” 
 
A graduate of Iowa State, Janel joins the United Way of Denton County from Produce Results, a local advertising agency where she served as Art Director leading the design, branding, media planning and marketing strategy for companies and non-profits in the Denton region. Janel’s design skills include logos, print collateral and advertising, websites, social media, magazine layouts and video production. Her previous experience included media and graphic design at Outdoor Living, Inc. and Meredith Corporation.
 
Prior to joining the United Way of Denton County, Marci’s 25-year work history included 15 establishing and leading the 501(c)(3) foundation of Kurt Warner, one of the NFL’s most respected stars, and nine with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams in Media and Community Relations. This Notre Dame graduate’s experience includes strategic planning, program management, communications, content development and editing, event coordination, marketing, and development. 
 
Teddy Yan is assuming increased responsibilities to serve as the Director of Financial Initiatives. In this role he will manage collective impact initiatives and programs, such as financial coaching, Bank On Denton County, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), the last of which have volunteer trainings happening now. Through the VITA Program, United Way of Denton County volunteers prepare taxes for low-to-moderate income households, helping local individuals and families file their federal income tax returns for free in an accurate and timely manner while minimizing their taxes owed, maximizing their refund, and preparing them for future financial success. Teddy coordinates volunteer training and the operation of VITA sites in Aubrey, Corinth, Denton, Lewisville, Little Elm, Pilot Point, and Sanger.
