Alicia joined the United Way of Denton County team in July, 2018. Alicia is a Licensed Master Social Worker and received her Bachelors of Social Work from Texas Woman’s University and her Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Community and Administrative Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington. In her role as Director of Education and Workforce Initiatives, Alicia leads UWDC’s cradle-to-career collective impact initiatives aimed at increasing access to quality care and education ensuring everyone has equal opportunity to higher education and livable wage employment. Alicia serves as the current Texoma Branch Chair for the National Association of Social Workers, Treasurer for the Rotary Club of Little Elm, UNT’s Department of Social Work Advisory Committee, and TWU’s Social Work Professional Advisory Committee. In her free time, Alicia enjoys many different hobbies and interests including roller derby, dancing, Zumba, Geek Girl Brunch Denton, cosplaying, painting pet portraits, playing ukulele, sewing, and table-top and card games.
