People Helping People Golf Tournament

There is no better way to LIVE UNITED than to spend a day with friends, old and new, on the golf course. On Monday, June 13th, 2011, the 21st Annual “People Helping People” Golf Tournament was held at the Denton Country Club.

The event raised nearly $40,000 this year, which go directly to the community through the programs and services of United Way of Denton County’s partner agencies.

As always, the People Helping People Golf Tournament is sponsored by Denton area car dealerships, James Wood Autopark, Bill Utter Ford, Jim McNatt Auto Group, Huffines Kia Subaru, Classic of Denton and Orr Nissan . This marked the fourth year the tournament was Co-Chaired by Paul Chandler of Meridian Bank Texas and Denny Aldridge of James Wood Autopark.

Golfers competed for both team and individual prizes. In the 2010 tournament for team competition, First place went to the Independent Bank team; Second place went to the Bill Utter Ford team; and Third place went to the VERUS team. Fourth place was the Sante Center for Healing team.

Individual prizes went to the longest drive in the men’s division, the longest drive in the women’s division and closest to the pin.

Noah Longino won the putting contest.
