Board of Directors Meeting

United Way of Denton County is governed by community volunteers that serve as board members.  Board members serve three year terms and are responsible for the governance of the non-profit organization.  BoardSource describes the duties of a non-profit organization's board of directors as:

• Determine Mission & Purpose,
• Hire, Support & Evaluate the President/Chief Executive Officer,
• Ensure Effective Planning,
• Monitor & Strengthen Programs,
• Ensure Adequate Financial Resources,
• Protect Assets & Provide Financial Oversight,
• Build a Competent Board,
• Ensure Legal & Ethical Integrity, and
• Enhance Public Standing.
